So I did a BIOS update and deleted my Logitech mouse through device manager and that fixed the COD stutter that was unbearable

@@FIVESTRZ Hmm i could try that! i did update my bios this week but will check the Logitech driver, i actually use a ton of different mice, but never had an issue with them!

@@driftwize I was having stutter WITH packet loss and was hating it, the WITHOUT packet loss and yea, that was the cause of the stutter, recent Windows update I think broke it. but Device Manager -> USB -> then remove device

@@FIVESTRZ Just checked and no sign of a logitech driver, also i did a clean windows install with no programs installed, changed my 4090 to a new one, different ssds, new psu etc, only the cpu and mobo left and then saw that there was 13/14th gen issues, so will try the cpu first as its an easy swap i guess, if its still and issue i may just go AMD😓

@@driftwizeI have an i7-13700K and it works fine. It depends on how you set the voltages. I don't use the new BIOS. R 7800x3D is not as good as everyone says :-)🙂🙂

Just don't have it on, between allotted and the actual VRAM used it's a much longer top line with the GPU stats

@@Jebusite100 ahh gotcha, I'm sure some other channels have it up on their overlays. Just be sure to check if they are displaying the actual usage and not reserve. COD would reserve 22GB which it wasn't using all of that I don't know on this game though

@@samimotion I don't swap parts around into the 7800X3D build. If you head to the channel playlists I have some videos on the 7800 XT paired with the 7950X3D, it performs really well in COD

Undervolt yea you should. Lost like 5 FPS in exchange for much better temps and I think it was close to 75-100W less power draw

@@lithari1480 yea it's the nicest looking card but also has a decent cooler. The 7800 XT doesn't feel as good as the 7900 XTX model though in the hand. Looks the same but feels less premium

Depends on the game but call of duty it's a couple percent off which may translate to 10-20 FPS lost with just gameplay and no camera. The more involved your stream is the more I'd assume you're hitting the CPU

I would look at buying a used 7800X3D instead of either of those. *Preferably new but it'll be closer to the prices of the chips you mentioned when new

I haven't tested both out myself but I'd assume that neither will max out the GPU but the 7600 might come closer

I know 5600 MT is rough frequency to be running. I'm running more than 2GHz faster RAM than that which is kinda wild if you look at it that way but timings matter even more

I haven't touched C-State but loaded up the X3D profile in BIOS, NGL I think my 7800X3D is shit because I can't really use a negative curve and I'm also too lazy/busy to test each core to find the weakest. Recording takes a decent little hit as well but I haven't tested with my 7800X3D and XTX only 7900 XT and 7950X3D

@@FIVESTRZ I had built a 7800x3d rig for a buddy of mine and I tried the -30 all cores on his and it didnt like it. I had to go all the way to -15 all core. So I definitely get it. Its strange because "supposedly" a lot of people report good resuls with -30

AM5 has come a long way and Intel way usually the stronger performer in 1% and .1% lows but that isn't always the case these days. My 7800X3D is a solid plug and play option. I've tuned up the RAM timings a bit and run 7600C34 and 7800C36 on it but there is a bug in shadowplay that crushes the lows on both platforms and some games are running better on AMD than Intel

The main goal of this build was to give longevity options, so in 2027 and beyond possibly, a drop in upgrade which we are not going to get on LGA 1700

​@@FIVESTRZ I completely agree on that way of thinking Did your issues in stutter go away eventually? I know chipset drivers did a huge advance in FPS and on scheduling with 7950x3D from on release and past release versions

Over time yes but the worst cases were on the game's side to begin with like Star Wars Jedi Survivor at launch was HORRENDOUS even with the process lasso. It was simply broken on AMD and the 1% lows were in the teens while the 13900K was 60-80s so I almost exclusively played over there.

Oh it for sure should be, the next X3D lineup should be hot fire man. 9800X3D here we go, or whatever they end up naming these things. When I went from the 7950X to the 7950X3D I saw whole new levels of performance on both my 4090 and XTX so that cache is a huge deal

It's been really bad on intel lately but I just updated my BIOS and reset my timings and everything so I should be good moving forward. It's been tought to determine whether it's the internet by me or all my PCs on this update.

The first PC game I was ever excited for lol. I'm kinda interested in the new Delta Force game. I remember the torrents for the older versions back when I was like 15 lol

I am going to mess around with it a bit this new season when I play Warzone has been unbearable with the stuttering. It's not FPS related so I am assuming my problem is either with the needing to fresh install my Nvidia drivers OR it's with my ISP which might be the problem.

@@FIVESTRZ its none of that its the game i have 14900k rtx 4090 theres a whole reddit and steam forum complaining about this dont fresh install like i did the only fix they told me was to set the vram to 60 or 70%

Crazy crazy, I will have to check it out a bit deeper when I get home tonight maybe. I been on CFB 25 so much that when this game gives an issue, I just hop right over to that and have a good rest of the evening lol. Fresh installing drivers is easy peasy though and I haven't done that in a while.

I was getting some stutters regardless last night, some of it I think was mouse related so I unistalled the mouse drivers and it seems to be a bit better, also updated to the newest BIOS for the Z790 Apex Encore, then had to manually reset some of my own settings back in BIOS because the stock Intel settings were trash lol

Have you tuned your secondaries and tertiaries? I tuned most of this RAM kit up to where I needed it to be but render worker count and apps can also severely impact the lows. I've noticed using GeForce Experience/Shadowplay is brutal on the lows where as OBS knocks a bit of performance off the top, it greatly improved the 1% and .1% lows for me.

@@FIVESTRZ I just reinstalled the game and tried resizeable bar off and that didn’t really effect anything. Then I changed the render count to 8 so it’s half the threads of my 5800x3d and I mean it seems to be better. It’s mostly Urzikstan that I get abysmal results on. My GPU can drop to as low as 79% utilization and just fluctuates. Multiplayer is smooth and the other resurgence maps seem decent too

Interesting, someone in another thread right now is talkng about the performance woes they are going through too, setting the VRAM limit to 60% is a fix they said Reddit and Steam forums seem to be coming up with. I wonder if that would help you and the render worker count can definitely impact the GPUs performance in the big map, have you tried 5-8 and dropping in the same spots? There are some variables to this process but you can get an idea (for example I can hit almost 70C with certain counts)

@@FIVESTRZ honestly I’m on the cusp of trading my 4080 Super for a 7900xtx. Warzone/COD is my primary game and I dabble in maybe a couple others here and there. I’ve got a Samsung G6 360hz OLED and it’d be nice to 1.) get frames a lot closer to the monitors capability and 2.) turn up the settings past competetive without sacrificing a ton of FPS.

@@MotoMedicine904 FPS is higher on the AMD side and even outpaces my 4090 at times. Wouldn't make the jump personally though, it's super tempting to do it though and since those COD is you main squeeze might be better for you. I've always described my Nvidia experience like iPhone and how it just works and my AMD experience is hit or miss but over time is more hit than miss with driver updates and patches

I'd be worried too but are you using the same settings? Also if you throw on HWiNFO64 you can monitor the voltage the chip is calling for like I have. When I get some downtime in the next couple of days, I will run the test to see where everything falls because 150 FPS is "broken" levels of low

@FIVESTRZ bro I fixed it. But thanks for messaging. I downgraded bios to previous one before the intel 0x125 optimisation, stick didn't fix it. Then updated it again and same settings and fixed. Weird. I messed around with it all day and can never get good fps, but OK now. You going to RMA your 14900k?

Nah, I have a KS and have ALWAYS lowered voltages manually to reduce temps. 1.4V is my limit and right now I've been at 1.251V for SA voltage

@@FIVESTRZ Likely due to news, and the fact that it was announced that even 14600k/13600k is affected by the voltage/ringbus/failure announcement by Intel Seems like every chip in 13th and 14th line up could be affected. Also, leaks that Bartlett Lake (which is a refresh of Raptor Lake) is also affected, and that is slated to come out next year. I would hold horses at Intel's office, as lawsuit is eminent. Enterprises will sue Intel if Intel doesn't make it right. I feel sorry for Intel, but not for the ones that knew of the issues and hid them I am on my 2nd 13900k, after first one got RMA'd to Intel about 6-7 months ago.

Not the f part brother , my main game is pubg and intel lack so much behind in cpu bound games like that compare to any x3d cpu. Also its power hungry and high temp.

Performance is right on par but I don't run much PUBG. Intel REALLLLLY matters what your RAM and timings are versus the X3D parts

@@jamesharisson8389 nope, I've always been voltage conscious and usually capped my frequency so these things ended up being the work around for a lot of these. The 13900K/14900K at 5.9GHz used to give me some issues but at 5.7GHz it was fine and the 14900KS has been fine at 5.8GHz

@@jamesharisson8389 few months now and I was getting all sorts of errors when my best core would boost to 6.2GHz it was also a fireball in games but now I'm about 2-5C higher than my 14900K and if I was doing it all over - I'd probably stay on my 13900K/7200C32 tune

@@jamesharisson8389 I always did and to keep the KS heat down I capped the PL1/PL2 to 253W also did something similar because Grey Zone Warfare was a bitch to run on Intel

Nah, really scaling back hardware purchases on the channel, most of it comes out of pocket and the ad revenue really ain’t it lol. Either upgrading the 7950X3D or 7800X3D, might skip 15th gen Intel and grabbing a 5090 and possibly flagship AMD next gen and calling it a day

@@FIVESTRZ I hear you. I am tempted by 9950X, but I really want to know how good the frame pacing is compared to 13900k I finally honed my CPU to GPU scenario. I also realized that Studio Drivers really give the best consistency with RTX 4090 recently, even though I have been testing it for 2 years now. I realized that Studio Drivers utilize GPU by about 2-4% less at times, but the stability and less fps drops is clear to me, less stutters or hitches are almost all gone compared to Game Ready Drivers. I am on 555.85 Studio Drivers now, and it's the best with 13900k and RTX 4090 in games. Even Battlefield 2042 stopped yanking fps up and down. I will take slightly less FPS for way MORE stability. I was really interested in 7950X, but as you know I returned it. It had too much FPS drop in 0.1% department. As much as 32 fps compared to about 62 fps in same game with Intel CPU. 0.1% lows, frame to frame pacing, IPC increase measures, multithreading are what matters to me in that order. I read about Arrow Lake today, and the design of the chip is very different. They place P-Core next to E-Core, then P-Core again or 2 P-Cores, then some E-Cores, and essentially removes a lot of latency in chip IO. That might be the best CPU in its class for gaming in terms of latency. Especially good for people like you and me that love playing shooters. But, there is something that I never was able to get rid of with Intel 13900k: a random spike in GPU graph. That same spike does not happen on 7950X. I speculate this is E-Core to P-Core business delay in the scheduler. Which is why I am wondering how Arrow Lake performs.

Any word on Windows 12 and whether they are addressing the different scheduler woes?

It does, I remember having the same options from when I was connected to my previous monitor, Now the one thing I don't have is whether or not enabling 4K will keep VRR. I made a video a few days after this one walking through how to activate 4K 60Hz which is by turning off adaptive sync

It's still a more clear picture than native 1440P though so that is the net result. It never becomes a 4K monitor but it accepts the 4K signal then outputs it to your monitor

I was running a monitoring software that was causing it. Too many RGB control software will do the same thing where they fight for control and essentially cause issues for you

@@FIVESTRZ I am about 10% into the game and I still get 80 to 90 fps I have the Asus TUF 3 fan 7800 XT OC though which is one of the more powerful and cooler 7800 XTs

@@FIVESTRZ going from a 7800xt to a 7900xtx is going to show a MASSIVE difference....i am planning to go from my current 7800xt pulse to a 4080 super so i have access to the currently more superior DLSS since it is more widely available in many games and has FG in games that i play that FSR doesn't have. Also, games like Horizon Forbidden West has FSR 3.1 and FG, but it has issues, it causes artifacts, which either AMD or Nixxies (the game developer) has to fix, Avatar had the same problem with FG, distortions around the UI making it.....unpleasant to play, performance wise and the overall quality was good, it just had that FG problem, it is now fixed. Horizon Forbidden has that same issue, but also FSR doesn't do the upscaling well at all, but from all the reviews of said update, which it also got DLSS 3.7, it did miles better than FSR. Hence my conversion. Though i obviously sticking with my 7800x3d. Until i get the Nvidia Card, i will be playing this game on my Xbox or PS5.....depending on how well i can get my 7800xt to do 1440p with the new monitor coming tomorrow, if i can't get it to as close to 120fps as possible, i will play it on the consoles until i get the new card.

Shoot this is essentially the new RX 580 and I think it’ll be a 60 FPS card still kicking in games like COD making a solid upgrade option for those on 2030 budget builds lol

@@aaroncornettshow1188 yep, once you stop getting a challenge I up to heisman but in Madden I actually found that stock sliders All Pro was harder than All Madden, mainly because in All Madden the CPU does better on your team so does the opponent CPU, All Pro leaves more room for errors to happen and blows coverages etc
